Responses from the October 2015 PLO Print

I loved this PLO. As a first year coach last year, I felt like I was wandering in the forest. This year I better understand my role, and my administrators have a better understanding of how we can work together to accomplish our goals. I came home with so many wonderful ideas that I'll be implementing slowly.

Every session I attended was so beneficial. As a full time math coach, I really felt there was so much available to help me. My presenters were so passionate about the topics they shared. Also, the round table conversations were filled with so much energy and helpful suggestions.

Administrators can help to support coaching with confidentiality, scheduling, vision, knowledge, excellent communication, and support. And each and every one of us can improve how we approach one or more areas.

The pacing was just right!  In addition to sessions, we had opportunities to network with table words, IU groups and five distinctly different groups in the World Cafe. This deeply enriched the reflection and improved networking, in my opinion.  The concurrent session gave us time to deepen the learning from the general session and it was excellent in terms of both content and format.

I really enjoyed the networking with like-minded individuals. It is invaluable to spend three days with people who, like me, want the best for our schools. It is an amazing experience.

The World Cafe really gave the participants a chance to network with others and to have conversations; more importantly, it gave the coaches a chance to reflect on their learning from the PLO.

The PLO re-ignited the passion I have for coaching - it's driving me to ask for more time in my schedule! I also really liked the World Cafe idea.  It was just enough time to share ideas and it forced me to reflect.

It was a very inspiring conference that I appreciated as a newer coach. Very rarely is professional development meant specifically for coaches, so that was much appreciated.  I came back to my school ready to schedule more BDA cycles with teachers and work with my school principal to make professional development time more effective and transformational so that teacher needs are being met and time is being used wisely to get to deep acquisition and implementation of learning.

The session about Math Coaching for a non-Math teacher was wonderful and most of the strategies were easily transferable to other non-ELA subjects.

The conference was well planned and the facilitators were very engaging. The collaboration was phenomenal.

Sessions were focused on building my capacity as an instructional coach. Every session spoke to my needs in learning how to improve my craft.

The networking is such a wonderful piece of the conference. Networking with others in my IU and also outside of my IU is very valuable. Everything that is presented at PLO is top notch. I can take much of it and use it with my own faculty. It is a gold mine of information.
